Ways to Give
There are many giving opportunities to help support the Bloomfield Public Library from monetary donations and planned giving options to purchasing books from the Library's Amazon Wishlist or through our Buy-A-Book tribute program.
Established in 2018, the Bloomfield Public Library Foundation supports the Library’s mission by securing and managing donations from individuals, businesses and private foundations that believe in the life-changing power of our Library. Funding from the Foundation supplements the Library’s state and municipal budgets, contributing to capital improvement projects and providing direct support to enhance the Library’s community programs, technology services, and collections.
The Foundation is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) public charity qualified to receive tax-deductible contributions, bequests, transfers and gifts. For more information on how you can invest in the Library's future, please visit the Foundation's website at bplnjfoundation.org.
Gift From Our Wishlist
Choose a specific item from our Amazon Wishlist to donate to the Library's collection. These are specific titles that our librarians have determined a need for and are hoping to add to the collection. Give a gift to the entire community. By browsing the list, choosing and purchasing a selection, you can add to the library's book collection available to all library patrons. If you like, donate in honor of a friend or family member, or in memory of a loved one. To browse the wishlist registry, visit: http://a.co/4ILoHBU
Honor a friend’s birthday or other special event, create a lasting memorial or just surprise a loved one by dedicating a library book in their name. Your donation will be used to purchase a book to add to the Library’s collection to either honor or memorialize the friend, relative, or group you designate.
Currently, the library is only accepting donations of books published in 2019. If you have any questions, please call before dropping off books so that we can go over our policy and discuss the nature and amount of materials you would like to donate.
We are happy to be able to provide a list of local organizations that accept donations of older publications and gently used books (view list of other organizations as a PDF).
