Kids & Family Programs

The Bloomfield Children's Library offers year-round storytimes in both English and Spanish for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. After-school tutoring is available for kids in grades K-6. Children of all ages are encouraged to take part in our popular annual summer reading programs. 

Our programs are free and children of all abilities are welcome. Registration is not required unless specifically noted on the Library's event calendar.

Baby & Me, Stories & Song

For babies ages 0-12 months.

Join our children's librarian for stories, rhymes, songs and fun that encourage playful interactions between little ones and their caregivers.

Community Storytime

For children ages 5 and under.

This program is provided in partnership with and is hosted at Lovlee Art Studios.

Spanish Storytime

For children ages 5 and under.

Spanish language storytimes provide interactive learning activities where kids can enjoy stories, songs and fun with our children's librarian and guest community storytellers.

Read to Brady / Read to Ruby

For grades K-6.

Visit the Bloomfield Children's Library for this program geared towards helping reluctant young readers of elementary school age practice their reading skills in our warm and nurturing environment. Kids just love sit and read to Brady, the bright & beautiful therapy dog and our resident bunny, Ruby.

Kids Book Club

For grades 4-6.

Whether your child's a bookworm or a struggling reader, sharing a book with others can be more fun than reading solo.

Storytime & Crafts

Age 18 months to 3 years & Age 3-5 years.

"Toddler Time!" and "Pre-K Kids" storytimes provide interactive learning activities where kids of all ages enjoy age appropriate stories, songs and fun with our children's librarian and guest community storytellers.

Storytime Boogie

For children ages 5 and under.

All are welcome to join us and experience books being brought to life through dance and other movement activities that go along with our theme. Put on your boogie shoes and come on down for a can’t miss good time. This program is provided in partnership with and hosted at the Shooting Star Dance Center.

Special Olympics Young Athletes™

For children ages 2 to 7.

Young Athletes™ is a sport and play program for children with and without intellectual disabilities (ID). The program introduces basic sport skills, like running, kicking and throwing and offers families, teachers, caregivers and people from the community the chance to share the joy of sports with all children.
