Ancestry Library Edition - Temporary Remote Access for Public Libraries

  Remote access for Ancestry Library Edition will no longer be available after December 31, 2021.   
All public libraries who were provided with remote access must remove their remote URLs as well as any remote access messaging by Dec. 31, 2021.    Please use the following steps to update your access points for this content so it is only available again to researchers within your network.  
  1. Locate any access links on your external resources for Ancestry Library Edition. 

2. Remove any remote access URL’s.  They may look like something similar to the following. 

a. http://ancestrylibrary.proquest.com/aleweb/ale/do/login/refurl 

b. http://ancestrylibrary.proquest.com/aleweb/ale/do/login?userid=UUUUUU&password=PPPPPP 

c. http://ezproxy.XXXXXX.org/login?url=https://ancestrylibrary.proquest.com  

3. Please replace that URL with the standard IP access URL http://ancestrylibrary.proquest.com 

 
Any remote access links that have not been switched back to the IP access URL will be disabled after the 12/31/21 end date.
