Driving South on the Garden State Parkway
Take exit 148 - Bloomfield Avenue (2nd exit after toll). Travel straight ahead to 3rd light at Bloomfield Avenue.
Turn right onto Bloomfield Avenue, continue straight past Bloomfield Center and Broad Street (2nd light cluster).
Immediately beyond the third light, angle right onto State Street by the State Street Grill. Cross Liberty Street, and
continue 1/2 block to Municipal Parking entrance sign on your right.
Driving North on the Garden State Parkway
Take exit 148 - Bloomfield Avenue, Toll is $.25. Keeping to your left, continue across Bloomfield Avenue
(traffic light) and then turn left onto sharp jug-handle. Get to the right as soon as possible and turn
right onto Bloomfield Avenue. Continue driving straight past the Center and Broad Street (2nd light cluster).
Immediately beyond the 3rd light, angle right onto State Street by the State Street Grill. Cross Liberty Street,
and continue 1/2 block to Municpal Parking entrance sign on your right.
Driving West from Belleville, Nutley, etc.
Take Belleville Avenue crossing the Parkway. At the 4th light, turn left onto State Street
behind Bloomfield High School. Continue straight 2 1/2 blocks through 2 blinking traffic lights
and enter the Municipal Parking lot on your left.
Driving East from West Orange, Verona, Cedar Grove, Montclair, Glen Ridge, etc.
Take Bloomfield Avenue crossing over Commuter Rail Electric Line and past "Montclair-Bloomfield Ford." At the 4th
light at Liberty Street, turn left. Turn left again after
about 100 feet onto State Street, and continue 1/2 a block to the Municpal parking entrance sign on your right.
Mass Transportation
Train:
Weekday service only. Take the
Montclair-Boonton Line, the Bloomfield station is
located at Lackawanna Plaza, call 973-680-4015), 1 block south of Bloomfield Avenue. Walk one and
one half blocks, past Sacred Heart Church and the Civic Center to the Library.
DeCamp Bus: Bus 88 or 33.
At the Port Authority, buy a ticket at the DeCamp Window. Take the DeCamp Bus from the Port Authority
Building in New York City, upper platform in the South Wing.
New Jersey Transit Buses:
From Newark: Routes 27, 29, 11
From Clifton and Nutley: Routes 27, 709
From Montclair and points West: Routes 11, 29
From the Oranges or Watsessing: Routes 92, 93, 94

North-bound buses stop next to the Green on Broad Street. You must
cross the street to get to the Library. South-bound buses stop in
front of the Civic Center. The Library is a few feet North of that
building.
Metered Parking
Meters are active: 8am - 6pm.
Maximum Parking 3 hours.

Entrances to the Library from the Parking Lot
The Main Library is entered from Broad Street - facing the back of the Library,
walk to your right around the building.
The Children's Library and Theatre can be entered from the North side. Facing the back of
the Library, walk to your left around the building until you reach the elevator
entrance about 2/3rd's of the way to the front.
